The Governing Council is the highest governing body of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun. It is responsible for the general policy direction of the University.
The Council meets regularly to oversee the affairs of the University and ensure that the University operates within the guidelines set by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The Governing Council is constituted in accordance with the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act and is composed of distinguished individuals drawn from academia, the public sector, and civil society, representing the diverse interests of Nigeria.
Members of the Council bring vast experience in governance, academia, medicine, law, and public administration, ensuring that the University is guided by the best standards of institutional governance.
The Governing Council exercises oversight over the University's finances, appointments, and strategic direction in compliance with the NUC Act and the Federal University Act.
