PROFILE OF KASSIM KAYODE BABAMALE

Mr. Kassim Kayode Babamale is a native of Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria. He was born in Kano, Nigeria on 19th September 1976. He had his primary education at Trinity Nursery and Primary School, Ilorin between 1983-1988. His secondary education began at Federal Government College, Enugu from 1989-1994 and later at Ansarul Islam Secondary School, Ilorin from 1994-1995. He then proceeded to Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin from 1995-1996 for his IJMB Certificate Examination. He attended University of Ilorin from 1996-2003 where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Geography in 2000 and Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) in 2003.

Mr. Babamale was appointed as a Coordinator in the Student’s Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) unit, University of Ilorin in 2004, Senior Assistant Registrar in 2012 and rose to the position of Deputy Registrar in 2018.

In the course of discharging his responsibilities, Mr. Babamale served in various units in the University which includes, the Vice-Chancellor’s Office between 2008-2017, where he diligently and efficiently worked with two successive Vice-Chancellors.

Afterwards, he served in the Postgraduate School from 2017-2018. Between 2018-2019, he served as the Faculty Officer in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and as the Deputy Registrar, Examinations and Records, Academic Support Services from 2019-2021.

He is a member of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (IPAN), Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).

Mr Babamale has served on various committees such as Chairman, Welfare sub-committee of the University of Ilorin Ceremonials Committee for the 35th Convocation Ceremonies. He was also the Chairman, of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the University of Ilorin Annual Registry Lecture series between 2018-2021 as well as the Auditor, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Kwara State branch from 2021 till date. 

He was on sabbatical appointment as Deputy Registrar (Students Affairs Unit) with the Kwara State University, (KWASU), Malete between 2021 – 2022 and was instrumental to the Vice-Chancellor’s restructuring process at the Students Affairs Unit. While in KWASU, he also served at the Students Disciplinary Committee, Student’s Union Election Committee which conducted the Student’s Union Election of KWASU on 3rd February 2022 as well as other related committees. He was part of the 58 staff members of the institution that embarked on a Strategic Plan Drafting Retreat between 3rd and 8th January 2022 for the purpose of drafting the Strategic Plan (2022-2027) for the institution.

He’s currently the Registrar, Federal University of Health sciences (FUHSI), Ila Orangun, Nigeria.

He enjoys reading, travelling, and listening to music. He is married and blessed with children.
